Sri Ramana Maharshi describes Sahaja Samadhi as the ultimate state of spiritual realization, the culmination of all yogic practices:
In this state, the individual merges completely with the Supreme Self, transcending personal identity. While in Nirvikalpa Samadhi, the ego is temporarily dissolved, Sahaja Samadhi represents a permanent state where one’s true nature is fully realized as the Supreme Self.

In this state, daily activities continue, but the individual is no longer attached to them, observing life as if it were a dream. There is nothing more to achieve or strive for, as one abides in Absolute Bliss, which is the essence of the Self.

Ramana Maharshi taught that this state can be attained by anyone through Self-enquiry (asking “who am I? Or who am I without my thoughts? To whom does this thought occur? What can I bring into this moment?”), which leads to the direct realization of one’s true nature beyond the ego.

This description captures the essence of Sahaja Samadhi as an effortless, natural state of being, where duality dissolves, leaving only the experience of the Self, which is an eternal state of Being, Consciousness, Bliss.
